AN AUTISM MIRACLE

  1. Thank you so much for this video and story. As a mom of a child with Autism and Dyspraxia, I’m so grateful for all that you’re shedding light on in this story! We too recently began working with Dawnmarie. While we’re early in our S2C experience, it’s been wonderful so far to see all that is in our son start to come out. Thank you so much for this beautiful way of depicting this story that represents so many of our families!

    1. THE AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL REPORTS: COVID-19 AND CARE HOMES.

The report on the United Kingdom. A passage from the report:

Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on older persons living in care homes in England. 28,186 “excess deaths” were recorded in care homes in England between 2 March and 12 June, with over 18,500 care home residents confirmed to have died with Covid-19 during this period. UK government decisions and failures resulted in violations of the human rights of people living in care homes, notably the right to life, to health and to non-discrimination. From discharging 25,000 patients, including those infected, into care homes; to denying care homes residents admission to hospital and imposing “do not attempt resuscitation” orders on them without due process, to failing to provide PPE (personal protective equipment) and testing to care homes. Older persons living in care homes were abandoned to die.

I guess; “people in care homes had their right to life violated”, sounds better than; “people in care homes were murdered,” but it is less accurate.

THE ELDERLY PEOPLE IN CARE HOMES WERE MURDERED.

        1. I’m very interested in what he would say.

I think that he’s right eye dominant, and that he has a perceptual strabismus, i.e. his brain is not coordinating the views of his eyes properly, resulting in a discomfort while having both open and he’s trying to relax. At the same time, he still wants to see and can’t hold a wink for long periods if he can wink at all (trying just now, I can’t hold a wink for more than a couple of seconds without feeling strained.)

I also get the impression that his right hand is more sensitive than his left, and this contributes to his odd way of hugging. (When he puts his hand down his father’s shirt, I really get the sense that it’s his “hug”, his way of expressing pride and affection to his father.)

I also think that it’s one of those God-arranged coincidences that we’re watching this five month old segment on the same day!

    2. My son is 30. Severe autism/autoimmune encephalitis since 18 mo. No speech since age 3. His receptive language is also severely impaired.
He has always been happy despite his challenges but In recent years seems very depressed. I have become physically disabled (2014)and cannot do the things we used to like bicycling on tandem bicycle. Kayaking with double kayak. Swimming in the gulf Or even walking at parks. It is just me and my son. We are all we have. I have no support. Can you direct me in how to get him started toward effective communication please?

    3. Hi Vania,
That must be so exciting for you and your child to reconnect like Jamison and his dad did. I was so moved by their story. Couldn’t imagine the intensity his dad felt when he read Jamison first stunningly bright answers.

I am just curious to find out if you think like Jamison that most children with their condition can do what Jamison and your child are doing? It is so shocking to hear people talk about those methods as being fake or giving false hopes to parents.

I wish you lots of happiness in this new relationship to your child.
      Kindest regards
      Jean Labbé

  2. “I think ABA is mostly cruel.”

I can see why! They’re treating someone who’s smart enough to be a rocket scientist and aspires to be a brain surgeon like Pavlov treats his dog.

I’m sure Jamison can tell the difference between teachers who mean well but don’t know better, and the sadists and tyrants who would get into such positions for knocks.. It’s a very different context, but I can’t think of a better source for explaining that aspect of the problem; here’s David Wood on police and correctional officers:

  3. I’m extremely inspired with your writing abilities as smartly as with the layout in your blog. Is this a paid subject matter or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent high quality writing, it’s rare to look a great blog like this one today..

  4. Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks|

  5. After looking at a handful of the blog posts on your website, I honestly appreciate your way of blogging. I book-marked it to my bookmark webpage list and will be checking back soon. Take a look at my website as well and let me know your opinion.|

  6. I’d like to add Polish language subtitles to this video unless it’s done already? Can you please give me permission to do so or at least to save the video? Let me know please

  7. I would like to point out my passion for your generosity for those individuals that must have help on this one matter. Your very own dedication to getting the message all around appeared to be rather invaluable and have all the time encouraged most people like me to achieve their goals. This important facts signifies much to me and somewhat more to my colleagues. Warm regards; from each one of us.

For 17 years, Jamison was unable to communicate with the world around him. Now, a new program has unlocked his voice, and in doing so, challenged everything we thought we knew about Autism.
