Kids are confused by all they hear about changing their sex. Never realizing the consequences from procedures that have been done to only a small percentage of people wanting the change. Do they tell these kids about all the medical problems they could endure, and that are not reversible? They offer only a few facts that are not explained fully. Do they even tell them how long a full transition takes? Hormone treatment also has its effects upon the brain. Do they tell them about friends that won’t accept your decision? They will treat them differently. True friends won’t. We have so many people with shallow minds that will say many hurtful things because they can. Even adults have problems with such transformations. Many kids that haven’t even fully developed physically find that the hormones that flood the body can impair judgment. Letting these kids choose these changes should encourage delays. offering treatments to ease their feelings but above all educate them. Let them meet with people who have had problems to let them see firsthand from people that went through it and not from a third party. Who thinks they are doing a service to these children.—I, Grampa
