In the 70ies John Calhoun made an experiment called “Universe 25”. Abundance of food and shelter and a perfect living environment eventually turned a healthy growing mouse society into one with self centered males that were not interested in mating with females, and females that became bad mothers, abandoning or killing their young. Aggression and hyposexuality lead to loss of social purpose and a lack of social interaction skills, thus the society eventually collapsing.
Makes me wonder about our human society and the direction it seems to go.
