Le Pen’s Promise: ‘I will reinstate the 15,000 health care providers’ in French election bid against Macron

All eyes are on the coming French elections as the world watches the first political choice to vote out those who forced lockdowns and vaccine mandates on much of their population. Opposing French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron, who’s trying for his second term, is Marine Le Pen who has sided with the unemployed healthcare workers’ plight due to vaccine refusal.

Twelve candidates were on the ballot for the first round. The two finalists will fight for France’s top position in two weeks’ time on April 24.

Both Macron and Le Pen need to win over a portion of the 7.7 million people who voted for Jean-Luc Mélenchon who lost in the first-round ballot last week.

Another candidate who is now sidelined for failing to get the votes, Éric Zemmour, had been more blunt about his promise to reinstate the unvaccinated French healthcare workers on the campaign trail. Le Pen has been less bold on her stance up until now calling the sidelined healthcare workers a ‘scandal’ and ‘brutal’ for the caregivers as well as ‘absolute stupidity’ when patients need their care. During her recent campaign speech her rhetoric became firmer on the issue promising to reinstate the 15,000 [unvaccinated] health care workers.

Since September 15, 2021, non-vaccinated caregivers have been prohibited from practicing their profession. A situation that many politicians already denounced at the time.

The healthcare system has struggled in France facing waves of Covid cases against a backdrop of forced vaccine mandates whittling away at health care worker staffing and moral. The topic has not gone unnoticed in the French media.

French news outlet Livre Noir ran the headline The necessary reintegration of non-vaccinated caregivers into the hospital. It has been seven months since unvaccinated healthcare workers have been sidelined with no clear path to a resolution.

On March 14th, twenty-one parliamentarians signed a document to alert the public on the fate of non-vaccinated nursing staff who were still prohibited from working despite France’s lifting of the vaccination pass.

The document described a ‘health disaster’ that has plunged patients and entire families into distress in France all done under Macron’s dictate.

The document closed by stating:

It is therefore absolutely essential to abolish this vaccination obligation for caregivers, to rehabilitate without wasting a minute these thousands of men and women unworthily treated by the French State and to grant them, finally, respect and recognition!
