Bill Gates’ Globalist Takeover of Our Children: The American Federation of Teachers Aligns with the World Economic Forum
Updated
The second-largest teachers’ union in the United States—the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), an aggressive, liberal political advocacy operation riddled with corruption—has partnered with the deep-state-aligned World Economic Forum to craft classroom curriculum for America’s school children. What could possibly go wrong? AFT President Randi Weingarten announced the partnership during a July 25 speech, telling union members that the collaboration aims to create “a curriculum that will lead to good jobs and solid careers in U.S. manufacturing.” As expected, Weingarten also took the time to criticize the Trump administration’s approach to education and technology, focusing on what she called an overreliance on standardized tests (which, by the way, are indeed used in the top ranked countries to monitor teachers’ performance), insufficient engagement with educators on AI policy, and a disregard for teachers in general.

Yet, indeed revealing a clear disregard for teachers in general, Weingarten’s annual compensation, which includes salary and expenses, tops a whopping $557,000. But it’s worse than that; her mega-salary is funded by union dues from teachers whose median wage is just $56,000. Undoubtedly, she opposes sharing her prosperity with the teachers under her charge. Instead, under Weingarten’s leadership, the AFT is against paying its talented teachers a higher salary. Along with that, despite talking a good game, “when the cameras are off,” Weingarten and her union “fight tooth and nail to oppose almost any attempt to implement promising education reform.” In his book “Special Interest: Teachers Union and America’s Public Schools,” Terry Moe, a William Bennett Munro Professor of Political Science at Stanford University and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, backs up this claim, writing:
“Throughout the modern era, the AFT has used its political power to block and eviscerate serious education reforms… It has used its power in collective bargaining to impose self-interested work rules that make it impossible for the public schools to be organized effectively.
Although AFT unions have sometimes gone along with changes and about the edges, and in rare cases (New Haven, for instance) have gone somewhat further, this cannot be allowed to distract from the essence of their behavior. On the whole, AFT unions have been enormous obstacles to the nation’s pursuit of effective schools. That is what lies at the core.”
Melding its progressive authoritarian politics with education, the AFT is a major supporter of liberal political causes and Democratic candidates, channeling over $79 million through its political committees to help elect Democrats to federal office from the start of Federal Election Commission records through November 2016. A whopping nearly 100% of its federal contributions support Democrats. The AFT has also significantly influenced state and local politics, contributing $2.725 million to the Democratic Governors Association in 2014 and supporting Democratic mayors in cities like Boston, Philadelphia, and Houston.
In addition to candidate support, the AFT spent $28.6 million on political expenditures and lobbying in 2016, funding Democratic-aligned groups like Priorities USA Action ($1 million), Emily’s List ($625,000), and American Bridge 21st Century ($300,000), as well as progressive organizations such as the Center for Popular Democracy ($215,000) and the Clinton Foundation ($250,000). The AFT is part of the Democracy Alliance, a progressive donor network, and has faced controversy for donating $50,000 to Women’s March, Inc. in 2019, despite its reported ties to anti-Semitic figures. In July 2020, AFT took part in the “Strike for Black Lives,” a mass strike in 25 cities to protest racism and acts of police violence in the United States.
With its left-leaning alliance and dictatorial behavior, it is no shock that the AFT (which, let’s not forget, influenced the Centers for Disease Control’s tyrannical stance on reopening schools during the COVID-19 pandemic) would partner with the embattled WEF—which, under President Trump’s leadership, is surely feeling threatened—in an attempt to control the lives and futures of our nation’s children. In announcing the partnership, Weingarten remarked that the partnership will “Create a curriculum that will lead to good jobs and solid careers.”
Additionally, it’s important to point out that Weingarten’s close allies, the Clintons (who have received millions from Bill Gates), have significant long-standing ties to the WEF, primarily through their decades-long participation in WEF events and their alignment and promotion of a globalist takeover. Former President Bill Clinton spoke at the WEF’s Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, in 1998 and 2000, advocating for free trade, globalization, and social dimensions to economic policies. Hillary Clinton also addressed the group in 1998, where she emphasized the interdependence of economic, political, and social spheres, while advocating for universal healthcare and empowering marginalized groups.
Not surprisingly, in tandem with its declaration that one day we will each “own nothing and be happy,” the WEF encourages transforming education to prepare the world’s children for a rapidly changing global economy to meet the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The group promotes equitable access to education and partnerships between governments, businesses, and educational institutions to breed inclusive systems that address global challenges like automation and inequality. The WEF’s initiatives, such as the Reskilling Revolution and Education 4.0, aim to close skill gaps and integrate technology into learning, as outlined in reports like the 2020 “Future of Jobs Report” and its Education, Skills, and Learning agenda for all to see on weforum.org.
The icing on the cake in this farcical union, which brings full circle AFT’s alliance with the WEF, is the fact that Weingarten and her crew have in the past received substantial grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to promote and fund, among other things, the implementation of the Common Core State Standards curriculum initiatives. Interestingly, they cut ties with Gates’ funding in 2014, citing poor implementation of the Common Core rollout.
Either way, we know that Bill Gates supports the Great Reset and is a noted funder of the WEF. We also know that when defining the relationship between the two, the WEF website notes of Gates, “Bill Gates shapes and approves foundation strategies, advocates for the foundation’s issues, and sets the organization’s overall direction.” Wow. Indeed, Gates has significant influence at the WEF. Thus, the new WEF partnership will surely pivot toward the globalist agenda shared by Gates, focused on issues like climate change and social ideologies aligned with the WEF’s vision, such as those tied to the “Great Reset.” No doubt mandated childhood vaccines will be somewhere in the mix.
While specific curriculum details have not yet been disclosed by the AFT or the WEF, we should all worry that their alliance will prioritize ideological goals over practical education, enhancing the Gates Foundation’s focus on academic metrics and tech-driven learning with a broader, more progressive framework, which, again, Gates is defining. This shift has rightly already raised alarms about reduced local control and the influence of global organizations on American education. Indeed, we should all take notice.
