So trump buys the supreme court to give immunity for a trillion dollar industry that poisons us, but he throws a crumb and the EPA doubles down. This is sick psychopathic behavior.
I think a lesson all sides of MAGA/MAHA are getting is that even when we put the kind of people we want into office, government is not there to help us. It makes some positive moves that help, but we cannot count on it to do the right thing all the time. We need to take care of ourselves, and stop looking to the government to take care of so many of the things we need. I understand different people have different capacities to do that. Some are more dependent on the government than others, because they don’t have some critical resources they need. I encourage even those people to look for alternatives. That may mean making significant changes in their own lives to take advantage of them. We should ask ourselves is it worth living with that dependency that is dangerous to us? Taking control of our own lives means expending more of our own resources to take care of our own needs. “Our own resources” can mean our own communities and associations. It doesn’t have to completely mean saying to ourselves “It’s all up to me.” If you give that control over to the government, you and your children live and die on its terms, and as we see, they aren’t necessarily in your best interests.
