An important reason why homeopathy in the United States—despite the prominent position it held there over a hundred years ago—fell behind and almost completely disappeared is the fact that the homeopathic physicians of that time were unable to keep pace with the scientific developments that were taking hold in all areas of modern life.
They saw no way to fit the fundamentals of their therapy—the so-called “law of similars” (“like cures like”) and the “principle of high dilutions/potencies” of their remedies—into the scientific context of the time.
Physics (before Einstein, Planck, and Schrödinger), analytical chemistry, and—consequently—medicine, which was increasingly oriented toward these sciences, had no place for the homeopathic approach, which, while it worked in practice, could not be explained by them—even to this day.

Unfortunately, Melissa Kupsch did not address this point, even though she cited some scientific evidence from recent homeopathy research.
But this is precisely what is possible today with modern methods of microbiome research and immunology: placing homeopathy on a scientific foundation.
