My heart breaks for the parents of Aiden. As a parent, I know how precious our children are.
I agree with Ben Wsthoff that parents MUST start talking with kids about the dangers of drug use and hidden fentanyl at a younger age. I’d say as young as 10-12 years old to begin the conversations.
As a parent who came of age in the 1980s and did my share of”partying “ I could see when my child was coming home high at age 15. Of course there was 100% denial right to my face.
Our house rules around devices were strict. No closed doors if a smartphone, tablet, or laptop was in the room. I had ALL passwords for devices and social media and any other apps. I’m paying, I’m supporting you, I need to see …
At night, all devices were in the common area for charging until morning. And I checked. That’s how I got the proof that I needed.
I found out early enough to make a difference. Urine tests were imposed. I truly believe that the hardline that my husband and I took turned things around for our child.

Thank you SO much for sharing Aiden’s story, I have been so blessed not to have addictive or depressed children and needed to hear your story to help me understand. Aiden was so blessed to have parents like you who loved him and went beyond to help him. When it all boils down the only way in life is to have faith in Jesus so that when our time comes there is a place where all pain and all sadness is gone and replaced by the overwhelming love of God. Bless you both for giving Aiden the best earthly life he could have ever had.
Is anyone else having a really hard time watching the Highwire last week and this week? It’s been so super choppy and broken up for me and it just can’t load smoothly. Thanks to Elon, I have great internet through Starlink, so I just don’t know what’s going on here.

Aiden’s story brought me to tears. How horrible for this young man and his parents. I could see their hearts. They did everything they could for their son. What a tragedy.
The brain/cns has been damaged by most drugs and rx. Saw a great TED Talk from a professor(can’t find it now) that said LDN(low dose naltrexone) can help heal opiod receptors and help create recovery. Seems like the repetitive failire rates are because the person never recovered in the first place. Willpower has nothing to do with it. I have been told by a recovery manager insider that the industry also fails on purpose for profit.
Just want to share my view.
Seems, like his father said, Aiden was an old soul, most probably a very advanced one. Unfortunately there was a certain level of disconnection with his own soul. Something must have happened, quite young, which scared him big time. One part of him froze and another part jumped out of his body and went hiding. Reuniting these 2 parts creates the healing and doesn’t need to be a long process.
I am so sorry for their loss but they must remember the soul never dies.
Realize this is outdated post, but did anyone else have trouble following Roseanne Barr? She was all over the place to me.
Just getting around to finishing this episode. Very frustrating to watch. It starts and stops constantly. Might want to look into this.
