VIDEO: Marianne Williamson Talks Predatory Big Pharma and Vaccines

In a wide-ranging interview, 2020 candidate Marianne Williamson joined MSNBC host Ari Melber hours after her debate performance in Detroit. Rather than talk about the media-hyped debate that just took place, Melber spent the bulk of the interview attempting to hammer Williamson on her past comments regarding antidepressants and vaccines.

On antidepressants, Williamson said “What I…stand behind is the idea that there has been a medicalization of what has traditionally been considered a spectrum of normal human despair.” She continued to say, “…and about that, I feel there is a very legitimate conversation in this country.“

When asked about her position on vaccines Williamson stated, “...on all of these issues, what I’m bringing up that I think is very legitimate and should not be derided and should not be marginalized, particularly in a free society, is questions about the role of predatory Big Pharma.”

In June, Williamson stated, “To me, it’s no different than the abortion debate. The U.S. government doesn’t tell any citizen, in my book, what they have to do with their body or their child.“

When Melber asked her to revisit her June statement Williamson replied,”
“When I was a child we took far fewer vaccines. And there was much less bundling. And there was much less chronic illness.”

Williamson went on to mention the 1986 Act and the over $4 billion paid out by its compensation program to petitioners who experienced injuries or deaths from vaccination. She also questioned the record lobbying of Congress by Big Pharma as well as the industry’s control over “news channels.”

When asked about the science, Williamson said she wants more science “I want more scientific research that is not paid for by Big Pharma…I want independent regulation that is conducted by the government that is not paid for by Big Pharma.“
