New York City will require every employee of the city’s Department of Education — including teachers, principals, custodians and all central office staff — to have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine by Sept. 27, without the option of instead submitting to weekly testing, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Monday reports the NY Times.
Hours later, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy ordered all state employees – including those at state agencies, authorities, and public colleges and universities – to complete a full vaccination course or undergo regular testing at a minimum of once to twice each week. Gov. Murphy stated full compliance in would be required by October 18th.
