CA Officials Investigating Another Pediatrician Over Medical Exemptions
Updated
In 2015 Sacramento Senator and author of California’s Senate Bill 277 Richard Pan stated the following during testimony:
“What the law clearly states is that the medical exemption is at the professional judgement of the physician. We took an amendment to absolutely clarify that point.“
BUSINESS INSIDER IS NOW REPORTING:
“A subpoena by City Attorney Dennis Herrera requests the patient records of Dr. Kenneth Stoller…Mr. Herrera declined to say why his office singled out the doctor.
Dr. Stoller referred comment to his lawyer, Rick Jaffe, who questioned the legitimacy of the city’s request for patient records.
Mr. Jaffe said Mr. Herrera is likely motivated by a rise in medical exemptions statewide since the 2016 law. He said some people have both personal objections and a medical reason for not being vaccinated.
“A politician is jumping in and saying it’s a public nuisance,” said Mr. Jaffe, who is based in Sacramento. “Where’s this coming from?”
Dr. Stoller was given 15 days to comply with the subpoena. His lawyer said that request was under review.”
