VITAL AUTISM CARE DISRUPTED BY FEDERAL FRAUD ENFORCEMENT

Comments

CAPITOL HILL: As federal and state governments intensify fraud enforcement efforts, legitimate autism service providers are being defunded, delayed, or shut down—leaving families and children without critical care.

The House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance convenes today to examine fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer dollars. Central to today’s hearing is testimony from Jennifer Larson, Founder and CEO of Holland Autism Center and Clinic, who is expected to detail how aggressive funding freezes and prepayment reviews are disrupting lawful autism therapy providers and harming children who rely on consistent care.

Larson is joined by investigative journalist Nick Shirley, former Minnesota fraud investigator Scott Dexter, and Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette of the Project on Government Oversight.

This hearing asks a critical question: Can government stop fraud without defunding care for vulnerable children?
