CDC investigation says 79% of US Omicron cases in vaccinated, 14 had boosters

Reuters is reporting that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that of the 43 cases attributed to Omicron variant, 34 people had been fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, fourteen of them had also received a booster. This according to a report from the CDC’s COVID-19 Response Team which despite the mainline admissions of vaccine failure in the omicron variant, such growth in case numbers among the vaccinated was already known well before the new variant came on the scene.
The CDC report states:
“Among these cases of COVID-19 attributed to the Omicron variant, 34 (79%) occurred in persons who completed the primary series of an FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine ≥14 days before symptom onset or receipt of a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result, including 14 who had received an additional or booster dose; five of the 14 persons had received the additional dose <14 days before symptom onset.“
The CDC report also mentions that among the follow-up cases, “one hospitalization and no deaths were reported.”
